Message is: Hello to everyone. My name is Amy Cox and I'm looking for anyone who might have known my dad BM1 Charles Linton. He recently passed away and I'm trying to find out a little about what he went through while serving on the PBR's. My Dad was a little guy, about 5'8", probably 150-160 lbs. As far as I can tell from various Navy documents I've found, he was a PBR Commander and participated in over 200 combat patrols on the Bassac River. One of the men on his boat had a monkey named "Jocko". I have pictures of several guys my dad was apparently friends with, as well as a few of "Jocko", but none have names on them. My dad was newly married to my mom when he started his PBR tour. He went to Hawaii to see my mom on leave. I believe he was on a boat paired with Lt. Carl Kollmeyer's boat when the Lt. was KIA in May of 1968. Prior to his PBR tour, my dad had 2 other Vietnam tours, both on the USS Chicago CG11. He also fought in the Korean War. He was originally from Louisvi! lle, KY, but was stationed in San Diego, CA during his Vietnam tours. If anyone has any info on my Dad, please let me know.
