Message is: I would be happy to hear from anyone who could tell me anything about my uncle Charles. I wasn't born until well after the war so I never had the opportunity to meet him. I have always been interested to know what kind of person he was but my family never could really talk about it so I learned not to ask. I don't know much at all...I do know he was either 18 or 19 when he was killed on or about February 15, 1968. He had a girlfriend while serving, I can remember reading letters she had written to him once (I was digging), her name was Cherry and I believe she broke up with him in a "Dear John" letter. As far as his physical appearance goes, he was probably not a very big guy, I would guess about 130-150 pounds. Judging by pictures I can remember he seemed to have blonde or light colored hair (pictures weren't too good then so I could be wrong). My family and I are from South Louisiana, his residence then was probably in or near Houma, Louisiana or somewhere in Terrebonne Parish. Message is: I'm trying to locate all wounded and disabled Vietnam veterans who were assigned to the 12th AF Hospital @ Cam Rahn Bay who had experienced the humilation of being sexually assaulted and raped from Jan 1967 to May 1968. I identified the sexual predator who turned out to be a Air Policemen with the 12th SPS. He was never charged with a crime, but was to be discharged, so I was told. I believe the Office of Special Investigation(OSI) 12th Security Police Squadron covered up many acts of sexual assault against disabled veterans. I am trying to resolve a compensation dispute with the VA and obtain records for MST and PTSD as a result of an incident, but running into many dead ends. Those records are unobtainable from the archives of the 12th Security Police. I'm also trying to launch a congressional investigation by my congressman and senators into criminal acts covered up by the OSI in the 12th SPS at Cam Rahn Bay.
